NONPUBLIC PERSONAL INFORMATION (NPI) WE COLLECT
We collect nonpublic personal information when you provide it to us (or give us permission to obtain it). This permission continues even if you were no longer a client. This can include but is not limited to your National ID, Social Security Number, Date of Birth, Banking Information, Financial Account Numbers and/or Balances, Sources of Income, and Credit Card Numbers or Information. If you are a client, or not, we will share your information only as described in this notice.
PARTIES TO WHOM WE DISCLOSE INFORMATION
All funds, fund managers, and associated parties, need to share clients’ personal information to run their everyday business. In the section below, we list the reasons that we may share your personal information:
Legally, you can contact us at any time to limit our sharing… but since we avoid sharing your information except when required and we have communication and activity retention regulations we must follow, there is no sharing we participate in to opt-out of.
PROTECTING CURRENT AND FORMER CLIENT INFORMATION
We intentionally retain as little private information as we can. We do not keep copies of SSN, DOB, or a host of other personal and confidential information. Employees keep no information but information required for an unfulfilled task or ongoing communication on their devices; and their device software is kept up to date. The information we’re required to retain is backed up and encrypted. Material required to be shared outside of our organization we routinely anonymize (like our fund cap tables). To further protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use additional computer safeguards as well as securing our physical records.
Advisors are required by law to inform their clients of their policies regarding privacy of client information. Federal law gives the customer the right to limit some but not all sharing of personal information. It also requires us to tell you how we collect, share, and protect your personal information.
THOUGH WE DO NOT SHARE YOUR INFORMATION IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS, the US Federal Government requires we inform you:
“Federal law allows you the right to limit the sharing of your NPI by “opting-out” of the following: sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes – information about your creditworthiness; or sharing with affiliates or non-affiliates who use your information to market to you. State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing. Please notify us immediately if you choose to opt out of these types of sharing.”
Affiliates – companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and non-financial companies;
Non-affiliates – companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and non-financial companies;
Joint marketing – a formal agreement between non-affiliated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.
Please call or email if you have any questions.
